Freelancers: The ultimate list of free or cheap online training during Coronavirus

Apr 10, 2020

The emotional rollercoaster of freelancing is rockier than usual at the moment, so if you don’t feel up to taking an online course, or your living situation doesn’t permit it at the moment – that’s okay. You don’t have to do this. This article is not about making yourself learn when you don’t feel like it. We’re not just working from home right now, we’re working from home during a global crisis, and there aren’t any rules on how to do that.

If, on the other hand, this extended period of time spent indoors, possibly alone, worrying about where work is coming from over the next few months, has led you to reassess your work situation – this article is for you.

The speed with which we entered lockdown and the general public found themselves working from home – or just bored – has pushed all kinds of training online. As a freelancer, I make part of my income from training, and I’m due to give podcast training next week via Zoom. Before I do that, though, a friend more well-versed in presenting on the platform is giving me a crash course in teaching on Zoom!

Do you want to skill up on business knowledge? Perhaps take some time out to learn more about managing your own wellbeing? Or maybe you’d like to work on your own creativity?
