How to tackle late and non-payments

February 7 @ 12:30 - 13:30

In today’s climate, marred by surging inflation, a cost-of-living crisis and energy price hikes, late and non-payments are a growing threat to freelancers and small business owners. A survey ran earlier this year by Markel Direct revealed that 22% of freelancers and small businesses had experienced an increase in late or non-payments.

Nearly half of those surveyed had payments owed to them that were more than 15 days overdue while 13% didn’t get paid at all and had to write off the money owed.

If a client doesn’t pay you on time, or they refuse to pay you at all, it can cause major financial difficulties and put a strain on your relationship with your client.

Designed for freelancers, contractors and anyone running a small business, this webinar will equip you with the knowledge to increase your chances of getting paid on time and explain the steps to take when recovering payment you are owed by clients.

The webinar will cover key topics including:

  • Survey results revealing how late payments are affecting the self-employed sector
  • How a watertight contract can help to deter late payments
  • How to use payment milestones for your benefit
  • How to manage scope creep and requoting for work
  • The steps to take when a client hasn’t paid an invoice
  • How to manage the debt recovery process without destroying client relationships
  • Your legal options if an invoice remains unpaid

This is a live webinar with a Q&A session at the end for you to ask any questions.
