Self-employed people across the UK have breathed a sigh of relief after it was announced the roll-out of Universal Credit has been delayed.
The news came after Work and Pensions secretary Amber Rudd announced she would be pausing the flagship welfare programme while she worked out the best way to transfer people onto the system.
Universal Credit has been widely criticised for major delays transferring people from other benefits onto the new holistic system. It has been particularly criticised for treating people on fluctuating, self-employed incomes unfairly.
