Thriving, not just surviving: Essential skills for the newly self-employed

March 20 @ 12:30 - 13:30

Whether you’re just starting out or you’re in the early stages of your self-employment journey, this webinar session aims to tackle the common challenges faced by newcomers in the freelancing world.

With insights gained from working closely with many IPSE members over recent years life coach and wellbeing consultant Kate Horwood will address the pivotal areas where she sees most people struggle.

Topics will include foundational aspects such as: time and energy management, procrastination, building resilience, avoiding burnout, shaping the right mindset, living with uncertainty, financial worries, stress management, and defining a clear business vision.

Kate will share practical strategies and discuss the skills to nurture for long-term business success –  offering guidance that goes beyond theory and directly addresses the unique challenges of those new to self-employment.

By the end of the session, you’ll:

  • Understand Your Business Better: Gain insights into the self-employed journey, understanding the initial challenges and recognising your roadblocks and strengths.
  • Clarify Areas For Growth: Identify the key areas that you need to focus on developing in yourself and your business, with a clear understanding of how you’re going do to so.
  • Formulate a Plan of Action: Receive practical guidance on the initial steps needed to address your challenges that will help set the foundation for your journey toward success.
  • Feel More Confident: Leave the session with a sense of reassurance that what you’re experiencing is normal, and confidence, armed with the knowledge and tools to navigate the early stages of your freelancing career.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions during the event but you can also submit questions in advance when you register.

This webinar is free to attend for both IPSE members and non-members.
